Haarlem intro week 2026: new students, 't Gildt and the city
Monday 24 to Friday 28 August the Inholland intro week starts. City by day, 't Gildt on Kleine Houtstraat by night.

A week before class
Monday 24 to Friday 28 August 2026 is Introweek Haarlem at Inholland. Five study associations and 't Haerlems Studenten Gildt run it together: Personalia, Lepidoptera, Röntgenius, Voluptuaria and Virplaca. The campus sits at Bijdorplaan 15. The city is the other classroom.
It is a week for first-years in Construction, Construction Management and Real Estate, Informatics, Information Technology, MBRT, teacher training, Social Work and Tourism Management. Other programmes have their own start. Business Studies, Finance & Control and Ad Logistics run 25 to 27 August. Check the Iris app if your course is not on that list.
Sign-up on the site is closed. Late spots go through Instagram @introweekhaarlem. The week costs €165. That covers dinners, activities, first-aiders and T-shirts. Mentors stay with the group. First-aiders are on at night. The organisers call it a city intro run by the study associations.

't Gildt, Kleine Houtstraat 74
't Gildt has been on Kleine Houtstraat since 1939. Students run the bar for students. Thursday night is the regular borrel, from 18:00. On introweek.nl the tokens are five for €10. Beer, wine, soft drink or a shot is one token. Speciality beer two. Mix or cocktail three.
During intro week, pub quizzes and parties land in the house. The rest of the year you meet older students from other programmes. They say everyone is welcome. Bar volunteers work about once every six weeks. You can sign up on their site.
Kleine Houtstraat sits south of Grote Markt. Between two scheduled bits you are already in the old centre.
Learning the city
The intro committee plans things around Haarlem by day and at night. If you have an hour spare, or you skipped intro week and still just arrived, a self-guided walk helps. Start when you want. No group departure.

Friday 28 August overlaps the first day of ProefPark in Kenaupark. Useful if the group is hungry and the race weekend is already over.
