Stinkende Emmer pub quiz: Thursdays through December
Six Thursdays left in 2026. Teams of five, 3.50 euro a person. Reserve under your team name on Ramplaan.

The Stinkende Emmer pub quiz sits on the sidewalk board and on the site of ’t Wapen van Kennemerland. Thursday nights. Ramplaan 125. 17 September has already passed. The rest of 2026 is still open.
When is the quiz still on?
The chalk lists the same dates as the site, with the spelling slips of chalk. All Thursdays. The site, updated 19 January 2026, lists the whole year. If you are booking now, these six nights remain:

17 September was still on the board when we read it, 22 September. That night is gone. 3 September too, and that one lived only online. Earlier 2026 dates from March to August sit on the same page.
A start hour is missing from board and site. The house is open every day until 00:00. Dinner until 21:00. Call 023 524 0532 if you want to know when the first question lands.
How do you enter a team?
Entry is 3.50 euro a person. Teams of five at most. No team? The house says you can join a table. Reserve under your team name, through the Inschrijven Pubquiz button on their quiz page.
An experienced quizmaster, the venue writes. 023magazine names him Hans. Questions on current affairs, science, sport, music and useless facts. There is a prize pot. The site says the beer round is the point.
If you want to eat first, book that separately. The kitchen closes at 21:00. Quiz and dinner are two tables in their system.
Where is the café?
Ramplaan 125, 2015 GV. West Haarlem, meadows, Elswout estate in view. Officially ’t Wapen van Kennemerland. The nickname De Stinkende Emmer has hung here for generations. Their history: building 1864, once the Hof van Holland inn. Zandvoort fishwives left their buckets outside after the Haarlem market. A drink inside. The street had a name for it.
Robbert van Berkel has run the place since 21 April 2009. Open 09:00 to 00:00. Lunch 12:00-16:00, drinks 12:00-22:00, dinner 17:00-21:00. Mail: contact@wapenvankennemerland.nl.
Bike or bus. This is not a hop from Haarlem Centraal. Plan the way home. The last round lands late on a Thursday.
What else is on those weeks in Haarlem?
Saturday 3 October sits on the same board: a Disco Night with DJ Joozt. Different night, same house. That start time is missing from the chalk too.
