Hals-Rembrandt at the Frans Hals Museum
Together for the first time: nineteen paintings by Frans Hals and Rembrandt, 6 November to 28 February in Haarlem.

Two masters side by side
From 6 November 2026 to 28 February 2027, the Frans Hals Museum finally hangs Frans Hals and Rembrandt van Rijn side by side. It's the first exhibition ever devoted entirely to this pairing: nineteen paintings, eleven by Hals and eight by Rembrandt, from collections in the Netherlands and abroad.
The Syndics in Haarlem
Thanks to a generous loan from the Rijksmuseum, Rembrandt's *Syndics of the Drapers' Guild* (1662) comes to Haarlem, close to Hals's regent portraits. Each pairing explores a challenge: how to paint children, whether you can depict music, how to bring a group portrait to life.
