About this outing

Haarlem has claimed, for five centuries, that it. not Mainz. invented printing. This walk follows the legend to the places it was born, the archives that still hold a 300-year-old printing dynasty, and the neoclassical Oval Room where the Enlightenment put knowledge on display for everyone. Read each stop in the StepQuests app.

How it works

This is a self-guided digital walking tour in the StepQuests mobile app — not a live guided tour. After booking you receive an email invitation code to unlock the route instantly. Walk at your own pace in Haarlem with GPS navigation and stories at each stop. No fixed meeting time or group departure (flex PASS ticket).

Meeting point: Costerstandbeeld — The Statue of a Legend — open the app and tap Start when you arrive (no guide to meet).

Admission: outdoor landmark viewing is included in the route; optional paid interior tickets are not included and not required.

Approximate duration: 65 minutes. Stops on route: 13.
