Lunch & Theater, Stapelbedbroers

Why This Event Matters in Haarlem

On Thursday, November 5th, something special is happening in Haarlem. The Verhalenhuis is providing a unique opportunity to enjoy a combination of theater and literature with the performance 'Stapelbedbroers'. Aad and Koos Meinderts bring stories and poems to life with a blend of humor and melancholy. This is not just a show. it’s a reflection on their youth in The Hague, touching on relatable themes such as love, loss, and the impact of writers and books. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in the rich cultural atmosphere of Haarlem.

What to Expect

The show features stories and poems that are alternately performed theatrically and recited by the Meinderts brothers. Koos has written for well-known names like Harrie Jekkers and boasts an impressive bibliography of 50 books. He has won several awards, including the Gouden Griffel and the Willem Wilminkprijs for best song. This all makes the performance a literary experience you won’t want to miss. It promises to be a mix of romantic realism and a reflection on the world around us.

The lunch performance starts at 12:00 PM, but the evening show at 8:00 PM is also an option, although it appears to be sold out.
