National Children's Theater Week in Haarlem

Why the National Children's Theater Week Matters

The National Children's Theater Week is one of those events you don’t want to miss in Haarlem. From October 10 to 18, the Verhalenhuis Haarlem will be all about youth theater. This is the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy some theater together, and it always warms my heart to see young people encouraged to be creative and enjoy storytelling.

What to Expect

During this autumn break, three youth theater performances are scheduled, with an entry fee of just €10. The performances are as follows:

  • Saturday, October 10, 10:30 AM: *The Elephant Who Kept His Word* (ages 4+)
  • Saturday, October 17, 10:30 AM: *Mess* (ages 3+)
  • Sunday, October 18, 4:00 PM: *Flat* (ages 6+)
  • Sunday, October 18, 2:00 PM: Free movie: *Fox and Hedgehog Save the Forest* (ages 3+)

The exciting part is that there will be free fun activities surrounding these performances for anyone who has purchased a ticket (limited places available!).

Practical Tips

The Verhalenhuis Haarlem is centrally located in the city, making it a family outing. Arrive a bit early so you have time to enjoy a stroll through the city. Perhaps grab a coffee and a treat at one of the local cafés? The atmosphere in Haarlem is always inviting, and it’s nice to explore the city before the show starts.

Remember, seats are limited, so make sure to arrive on time to avoid disappointment.

Discover More Haarlem Experiences

Want to do even more during your visit to Haarlem? Consider adding an experience to your day, like the Corrie Ten Boom and WW2 Experience or a Private BBQ on Board Haarlem Cruise. There are plenty of ways to make your day complete.
