Cinekid: The Digital Playground for Kids

Why Cinekid Matters in Haarlem

Cinekid isn’t just another event. it’s a celebration of creativity and technology for children. In an era where digital skills are increasingly important, Cinekid provides a unique opportunity for young minds to use their imagination and explore the media of the future. This year, on Saturday, October 17, the MediaLab opens its doors at Schuur. It's the place where kids can play, discover, and create, all for free!

What to Expect

Step into the (digital) playground of the MediaLab! Here, children create the media of tomorrow. There’s so much to experience:

• Bakkus the Story Eater: An interactive audio adventure where kids shape the story themselves. Every adventure is unique!
• VR Test Bunnies, Chaos in the Lab: Put on a lab coat and become a scientist. Investigate and put out fires in VR, just like in the popular BNNVARA series.
• Games & Cooperation: Communicate cleverly in CO-OP-O-TRON or build a bizarre obstacle course in Ultimate Chicken Horse.
• Workshops & Crafting: Program RoboCop to the finish, create your own memory time capsule, or join the crafting table with the Cinekid DIY KIT.

The program is packed with activities that encourage kids to be creative and work together.
